At COF, staff members are highly valued as the main provider of services and supports for those persons who chose COF as their service provider. 

Persons employed to assist, train and support the mission and goals of COF Training Servicdes, Inc. receive mandated training in the following areas:

  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation
  • On-the-job training for all aspects of job responsibilities, and
  • Continual training on the latest changes in the social service industry.

COF Training Services, Inc. believes that by enforcing a “clean-air” policy we are encouraging a healthier work and living environment for the individuals receiving services as well as for the staff.  Smoking, use of smokeless cigarettes, and/or use of any tobacco product is not allowed on any of COF grounds, vehicles, or while staff is receiving compensation for work, including paid breaks.

Burlington and Ottawa

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL: assists individuals with disabilities in leading a self-directed life, and in contributing to the community; assists with activities of daily living if needed; and encourages attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion.

Qualifications for this position require a good driving record; valid driver’s license; must pass background checks; must pass drug test (pre-employment and random testing); must be flexible in working evenings, overnights or weekend shifts; High school diploma/GED preferred;  CNA/CMA beneficial. Starting wage $10-15/hr, depending on shift, experience and location.
