Steve is married; he and his wife Pam live in rural Franklin County near Ottawa, Kansas.

They have 4 married child and 3 grandchildren.

He is originally from Oklahoma and is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma.

Steve’s desire to get involved with the disabled citizens started when he worked at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita, Oklahoma in the early 70’s where he saw firsthand the conditions and treatment of people with developmental challenges. Steve’s experiences there developed a keen interest, passion and compassion for developmentally challenged individuals.

Steve is a Marine veteran, serving as an enlisted Marine and as a Commissioned Officer of Marines.

He has had a successful career in the private sector, which spanned more than three decades as a Human Resources Professional, working for Kraft General Foods, Walmart Logistics, his own HR consulting business and The Department of Veteran Affairs.

Steve enjoys reading, woodworking, gardening,  fishing and spending time with family and friends.
